The Myth Of Linux Community Support. 955
The Myth Of Linux Community Support. 956 First... Damn, did you take your meds today? Seriously, man. Something is wrong with you. Now, to the... I've no idea what you mean when you talk about forcing things. I'm not sure what an application server is, either. Or be gathered from a third location, or be a mix of data stored on multiple machines, over multiple network fabrics. It might be on a cdrom, or a floppy drive. There might be a wireless network. Not necessarily - a file could be opened random access, and only the required parts might be used. Your reasoning is seriously faulty. But that's got nothing to do with your claim. What on earth is 'necessary'? Necessary for what? Some data might not be accessed at all on one run, but be accessed many times on another run. Your buttertion that everything is copied from one machine to another is simply wrong as there are many situations where that would not happen. Let me try to explain this another way. Let's say that you have a large database, say, 2Gig. You have an OS and application end environment which need to run, and require, say, 5Meg of memory to run. Your machine has 512Meg of Ram, and 512Meg of Swap. By your logic, you can't have that database, because it would all have to be copied, yet this is not true. Let's try another one - you have run webserver on your 'client' machine, but the files to be served are on your 'application server', as is the web server itself. Unless a user follows every local link, some files might never be read from the 'application server'. Equally, there might be a SSL module for the webserver, but that might never be used on an internal network, say. If you still don't understand, then I suggest you buy a book and read it. -- Mark Kent -- mark at ellandroad dot demon dot co dot uk "I'd love to go out with you, but I'm attending the opening of my garage door." The Myth Of Linux Community Support. 957 Insults do not make your case, I'm afraid. Okay, so you have no proper definition for it. Please don't try to change the subject. You...
