I would concur with that. My own pet hate woth Word is that if you indent the first sentence of a paragraph, it indents the WHOLE paragraph BY DEFAULT! And yes you can turn this action off, but why have it ON by DEFAULT? Absolutely. In fact I know many organisations that just didn't bother to update to Office 2003 from Office 2002 because the additional "functionality" wasn't wot=rth the additional cost. But even Excel suffers from the "un-joined up thinking" of Microsoft. If you set Regional settings in Windows to show a negative number in brackets, Lotus 123 takes that setting by default. Does Excel? NO IT DOESN'T! You have to use Formatting to get negative numbers with brackets round. In Lotus, if you type in a cell "1+2" (without the quotes) then Lotus automatically knows that you are typing in a Formula. Does Excel? NO IT DOESN'T! It buttumes that as you haven't typed an = or a + at the beginning, you are typing TEXT! How stupid is that?
