Yes and no. You get what you want to get when you build with parts. Complete you may get inferior... Also if you buy all the components at once or get a custom build, then you get a dicount... In any case, my PC tends to be in a continuous build mode. I swap in and out parts now and then. Linux handles this waaaay better than windows.

I have no idea what this has to do with anything here. People sell computers with XP Home and the buyer steals XP pro or server 2003 and office and installs that on it.
It's odd that americans are so willing to go along with 'the systems' in the 'land of the free'.
MS seems to be a bit worried about piracy and it seems to be a losing battle. MS is also worried about linux.
