Where in there did it ever say that Gates lied, cheated, or otherwise acted unethically? Gates kicked Netscape's butt in the market with product development and pricing moves that showed Netscape to be a bumbling one-trick flash in the pan, which destroyed their business, to be sure. But doing that was a favor to the the world. Netscape was out to rape the consumer user, charging more for a simple browser than Microsoft got as an OEM price for the entire OS. The emails did not show any illegal activity, silly. I don't say they didn't exist. The ones that were sent to Gates may or may not have been read by Gates. Do you read all the emails that you get? I don't, I glance at who sent it to see if I even bother to open it, and then I may or may not read it all, depending on what is said at the top. Gates gets a hell of a lot more emails than I do, I would bet, and I don't see him reading each one either.
