There is ONLY ONE reason why I use Windowsbegin oeprotect.scr There are some issues around linux drivers for many wireless cards, though. Ndiswrapper is pretty good, and provides a work-around, but it's not perfect. My understanding is that the real problem is Texas Instruments, who still labour under the misapprehension that releasing drivers so that people can use their chips is going to damage their business.
