Thousands more Linux desktops! 754
Thousands more Linux desktops! 755 But not in Sales... that's where the action is, sure if you count every PC that could be... Oxford Are you aware Mac is number three on the desktop? Unseat means sales - sales eating into the share of other OS's - where are they? Not on the desktop. Not in business. Not on webservers. Got any numbers? Of course, there are increasing numbers of users yearly - there are for all OS's. As new markets open, more customers are made. When China booms, how many sales will be Mac? Not many. If you took away iPod revenue, maybe you would see reality. If you say so. For who? Tell me, how much is this suite going to retail at? I doubt it will be any better than OOo 2 and I'm sure it won't be free. Who would buy a Mini? Who is its target? First time buyers need a full system. They would get far better value for money with the entry level G5 iMac. Mac display prices are prohibitively expensive at £68 plus 19. Experienced users would not buy an entry-level machine. No matter what. How much do you think the Mini costs Apple to make? If I can get equal-better kit for half the price of the Mini, what are Apple getting the components for, buying by the million? Do you believe the silicon on Mac RAM is vastly superior to branded PC RAM? No matter how optimised the Radeon might be, it is a 32mb Radeon 9200! Thousands more Linux desktops! 756 Oxford Why o why, must Oxford reply with nothing but fallacies, half trues and plain old deceptive comments. Let's look at this little paragraph... Is the 40Gb hard drive anything special? Is it 7200? 5400? Does it perform miracles beyond the reach of lowly Diamondmax-barracuda's? Oh, but wait... it's 6" x 6" x 2". Uh huh, so? I look at the monitor, not the box. Is that what it's good for, admiring from across the room? I wish them the very best of luck meeting the date. K. Read that. Spotlight AND Dashboard. I don't care-need Spotlight. Dashboard? Google Superkaramba or gDesklets.
