Time for everyone to leave now..... 3288Sinister Midget Quick note - This is clearly your *opinion* which is no more wrong or right than my opinion or that of Erics. I may not agree with many of the points you make but I don't respect your opinion any less because if it. Weird I've been trying to figure out why this problem happens, but am not having any luck. It happens in some test code I've written, which spawns a thread that ends up... At least you tried to argue your point and present your point of view. Unlike the idiot who just posted here minutes ago (I won't name the "number" between 6 and 8) who's entire idiotic ramble consisted of nonsense about it being impossible for a Windows machine to remain booted overnight. Time for everyone to leave now..... 3289 Since you chose to delete the reasons I gave, let me quote meL Some of the presence of anti-M$ fodder is inspired by the pro... But you do lose credibility with the dozens of references to Windoze and crapware. Yeah... we've all heard it before. Ha-ha. It sort of quits being original after the 500th time and simply starts looking childish and immature. If you want to make your point and be taken seriously then lame word plays that everyone has seen thousands of times hurts your credibility. It's also worth pointing out that the noise here in COLA is of no relevance to what happens in the real world with 100's of millions of computer users. People who whine here have just as much right to whine as you do not to read their posts. It is an unmoderated newsgroup on a unmoderated internet. What do you expect?
Linux will improve as will OSX and Windows. None of these 3 platforms is anywhere near what they were like 10 years ago. It should matter to you that Linux improves. It should also matter to Windows and OSX users since it will result in improvements in those platforms as well. This is not a net-zero sum game.
Keep in mind that my biases have just as much (or little) importance as your biases.
But it is entirely conceivable that you are the one with incorrect perceptions. Looking at the computing landscape as it stands today, my perceptions are more accurate than yours. Will this be the case in 5 years? Neither of us has a crystal ball do we?
Bingo !!! It's important to note that these are your *opinions* and I also have *opinions* which may or may not agree with your *opinions*. It's been said that only two (2) facts exist... mathematics and physical science. Everything else is a matter of opinion.
