Fast-forward to the present day and I've been doing digital photography for about 4-5 years now. I've gotten pretty good at doing just about anything I want to do to a still photo.
I had a regular "High-8" camcorder but couldn't do much editing on it with the computer without getting a video-capture card. (Never really wanted one.) But this spring I went ought and bought a nice Panasonic digital camcorder. It plugs right in to the computer with the Firewire cable and downloads the video pretty quick.
I've made some pretty cool videos with it. I'm still new at it but I've added background music, various transitional effects (fade out, wipes, etc.) and did some pretty cool editing. I've even burned a few DVD's complete with menu from these videos. Another cool benefit to the camera is that I can have a friend-wife tape my golf swing and I can analyze it frame-by-frame and see some fairly obvious mistakes.
