I've been an engineer too long, I guess, but I'm too... When the machine is actually ready to run. However, I forget which one, but one of the live CDs has begun running tasks in the background after boot, too. When I find it again, I'll first complain, then report to others. I didn't notice it when run from the disc, so that may only happen after it's installed. I noticed it a number of times after install, and even found myself waiting for for some processes to finish before doing much of anything. I don't remember which it was. But it had to be PCLinuxOS or Kanotix. I'm leaning toward it being PCLinuxOS. Whichever it was, it ran fine once it was all finished.
That stance was buttured once they put a cherry on top of the pile of poop. That usually happens as soon as they settle on a final name for the meadow muffin. -- Windows? WINDOWS?!? Hahahahahahehehe.....
