One of the things that's actually scary about the republicans over here is that they hate the Clintons. I mean actually hate, as in would do physical harm if they thought they could get away with it. If you ever get a chance to listen to the "conservative" talk radio you'll hear them ragging on Bill Clinton every day, and implying or outright saying Hillary was the one making him do whatever it is they're ranting about that day. Even poo that has nothing to do with Clinton, like the daily IED planting sin Iraq. So I doubt they'd go and vote for Hillary, but they're still extremely dissatisfied with Bush and his fan boy entourage. At the very least the slightly more independent republicans have a better chance of getting elected these days.

Quite true. But on the other hand, now that Dean's in charge of the party he's doing a lot to prop up actual democrats, and basically giving the cold shoulder to a lot of the corporate democrats. And the voter pool for the democrats is going along with Dean's plan, which means guys like Kerry ought to be on the way down.

Well, I live in the US, so I hope the damage isn't too severe. When our economy starts to die it'll hit the bottom end first, which is the end I'm closest to.
