What's up with the trollsWhat's up with the trolls 13367 On Saturday 29 October 2005 07:34, Jericho Swarm stood up and spoke the following words to the... Well... I've had two long days behind me. Yesterday, it was already like 4 AM before I actually starting reading through my daily load of Usenet posts. This group alone had over 640 new posts! Today, it was again late when I started reading through the posts. It was about 2 or 3 AM - I don't even remember - as I had been busy configuring the new 2.6.14 kernel, carefully going over each option to make sure I had everything that I would need and nothing of what I wouldn't need. ;-) And just like yesterday, what struck me about C.O.L.A. is that there were a lot of new threads started by people in mykillfile. This was obvious since a lot of the threads had "Re:" in the subject line, and in some I even saw snippets of what those trolls had said. From the looks of it,DFSis trying very hard to hit the number one position in the statistics for this group - does anyone actually keep stats here? It is being done on a few other groups I'm in - by launching thread after thread in his anti-GNU-Linux campaign. And yes, it has been asked before...: what are they afraid of? If Windows is really such a great, stable and powerful operating system with nothing to fear whatsoever in terms of compebreastion, then why - oh why? - are these trolls firing off one thread after the other? I think that in these last two days,DFShas posted more threads (and follow-ups) than evenflatfish+++normally would in the same timespan. OT A Dream Come True Once upon a time, there was a youngman. He was in his teens, and he was a real dreamer. He had... "-tard" in it -tab,and to a lesser degreeLarry-Qualig,-billgwandErik-Funkenbuschwere also doing their daily thing. What's the matter, Win-trolls? Does your activity depend on global warming or something like that? Have you got some compebreastion going among yourselves regarding who could post the most FUD in 48 hours? You know, I really don't see why you would put yourselves through all that trouble. After all, Windows is the superior operating system, a true winner, right? And we're all losers, C.O.L.A.nuts, lintards, right? Or could it be that you guys are just starting to panic because MickeyMouseSoft is starting to take the fall, and it would expose how badly you could handle yourselves without Windows? Building IT Infrastructure in UK Schools BECTA (British Education Communication Technology Agency), is the UK agency in charge of defining IT policy for all schools in the... (Not that FOSS would deprive you the freedom of using it, unlike the philosophy you people cherish - if it were up to you, we would all be forced to use Microsoft Windows, right?) Well, okay, this post may qualify as a troll-feeder, but I myself won't see any of the replies anyway, as most of the trolls are in mykillfile. So I guess it's kind of a rhetoric post then. And a justified one too, considering that this group is clearly under siege... Microsoft Hunts For Zombie Spammers Thomas Wootten Normally no. But everyone has their limits. Grew up in New York. Went to school at Syracuse... What do you say, fellow penguinistas? I say "Payback time"...! -- With kind regards, *Aragorn* (Registered GNU-Linux user #223157)
