In fact my daughters demanded it on their personal machines when I put them together. They... Buy used. I bought a new one for Mrs. Midget awhile back. That was what she wanted. I din't know any better. And it got her off the Winders addiction* finally. Since then I bought 2, both used. The price is too steep for what you end up getting with a new machine. At least it is for my tastes. Aesthetically they're fairly decent (in a somewhat newwave sort of way). OS-wise they aren't too shabby (unless they start acting up, and then they can be a lot like Windross in some ways). But they aren't worth the price IMHO. Every time they try to address that part, they cheapen the parts to reduce the price instead of cheapening the better machines a bit to try attracting more business. That would be like airlines, to attract more people, they roll out prop jobs, and junk or idle a number of the faster craft, then start advertising new, lower fares. And at the same time they raise fares on the few faster aircraft still flying because: a) they're inidividually more popular since there are fewer left, and despite less people flying because of costs and inability to get on some flights that are booked solid; and b) the average costs per pbuttenger increase due to fewer fliers wanting to pay the increased fares on the less popular flights or to fly through the treetops. Unless and until Apple does something about the price, Mac will stay on the margins for most people and businesses. Ignore the 'tards cross posting press releases who claim differently. Macs are, and have been, priced out. Cheapened quality machines at lower prices won't reverse that since the price isstilltoo high for what's being marketed.** * Like any addiction, she was getting sicker and sicker.
