Depends on how one uses the term. The proper usage would include Canada, Brazil, Peru, Belize, Mexico, Columbia, etc. This would probably be a billion and a half people or so, but I'd have to tally 'em up. Brazil in particular has 186M; Mexico 106M.

Of course many people say "America" when they really mean "United States of America", which has 296M people out of about 6.4B -- 4.6%.

It would be interesting to see what does ensue. I'll admit I'm not entirely sure that standards will cut it; the government is merely one of the compebreastors in this space, AFAICT.

I can tell that you are a technical person-user. In all fairness the person(s) who devised the time-date stamp were also techies so they most likely saw things the same way. But...

One de facto standard that has evolved is Microsoft Word for resumes, apparently. (I for one find this slightly odd.)

To me this is one of those questions where the right answer depends on how you look at it. It's almost like those optical...

I do wonder. AmigaDOS fit nicely into a floppy and into 512k chipRAM; the C64 was even smaller and the original PC had maybe 64k. The original PC also ran nicely on a 63.5W power supply.

Today's PCs are almost 10,000 times that size, RAMwise, and can consume about 8x the power. Are we worker bees working more efficiently?
