tab Really? This is rather rich, coming from someone who can barely manage to post in coherent sentences. I doubt you're...

That does seem to be the case, doesn't it? And probably that won't change completely. Hopefully, though, Free software in all its forms will help level the playing field. Saving money is only one of its benefits.

More fool them.

But the point here is not about money, as such. Free software - that is Free as in Freedom - can cost just as much as proprietary software. People continually get mixed up about this. Certainly, much FOSS software is without price, but it doesn't have to be. That's just a very welcome side effect.

I'm not going to pretend the no-cost aspect is without any importance. It's very nice. But while it may be an inital attractor, it's not everything. It's easy to call Linux users 'freeloaders', but as I've said many times, you can't freeload is something is given away with no strings, by its creators, freely and generously, with the express intention that it be used for nothing-very little money.

The developers would hardly make it freely available if they didn't what people to use it. That's what idiots like DFS don't get through their thick skulls. Because they are greedy and ungenerous, they think other people must be the same.
