Daeron hang on... am I wrong in this? I thought that as far as the processor is concerned, data and code are the same thing? Just a string of 1's and 0's? Recently it was pointed out that the Windows Explorer interface can execute code embedded in a JPEG bitmap. This struck me as highly illogical. Why should embedded code be in a bitmap? It's just pixel colourations, after all! FWIW, this was reported as an exploitable feature-bug-term of the minute. Not affecting NON-Windows platforms. Running on the same architecture. Which suggests to me that this exploit isn't anything to do with the processor, rather the platform code.
