As far as I can tell, neither Kate nor KWrite or any other lightweight editor (in Linux or Windows) supports formatting more complex than bold... 5 Sales Contact maintenance. 6 "Outlook Today" summary screen. 7 Rules-based filtering. 8 Mail response scripting. (I'd have to look for the details but MS Office and scripting can presumably make for a powerful "junk mail" combination.) 9 And, of course, it's from Microsoft, which means it's "standard". Now, this doesn't mean Linux tools can't do the same; I'm using Evolution, for example, which does what I need and looks a lot like MS Office. You'll have to clarify what it means "to suck", of course; that's abut as specific as saying that a 1968 Charger with a modified horn playing "Dixie", a throaty roar, an orange color with a criscrossed blue stripe pattern on top containing some white stars, and two good ole boys going out for a spin somewhere in Hazzard County, is just a car...
