SIQ? Yeah, I think that was something MS insisted upon, LOL. I think IBM came up with a way to fix it by writing apps a certain way, but it was complex. Anyway, anymore, that's not exactly an SIQ (like it used to be). Sure, OS-2 had flaws!

I guess we would have to go back to those groups to ask that question. Those OS-2 guys did agree that NT did threads natively and well.

No there were big discussions about BeOS too. Agreement was BeOS multi tasked and mulbreasthreaded about as well as OS-2. Verdict: tie. Be did multimedia much better tho.

Most of them used BeOS. They really liked it. As I said, verdict was tie, but Be would do say a sound file, or say, 6 videos all at once better. :)

Yeah I read an interview with some guy who wrote that f***ing Be kernel and it was really interesting. That thing hardly waits at all, it's down to the 1-1000th of a second on stuff. Not that I understand that, but there's ur MM performance.
