So it could run um Unix stuff more seamlessly? Same reason anyone implements POSIX? I mean the POSIX will just be used to deal with *nix binaries, it will NOT supplement OS-2 threading model.
That is a question for a computer science professor. I believe OS-2 is considered to be a multiuser OS. Surely, OS-2 Warp Server can and does serve 10,000 OS-2 clients. However, Linux does networking much better (as in ability to handle more clients better) than OS-2.
