As I advised in another post, it's best to decide on your own if-when they're directed to you. It's certainly easier to handle them that way than to call them up from the dead to see who posted the one right before.

If it makes no sense, you can ignore it. If it seems to be addressing something and you answer it that way, it's OK. If he wanted you to answer something else, he'd have given some context so you'd know what the subject at hand is about.
This makes for the ideal situation:
answer what you want the way you want - it'll make perfect sense to everybody involved since nobody will know any differently.
ignore the ones you want whenever you want - nobody will know if you were being addressed anyway.
