The question that I always like to ask these "lay-preachers" such as MacDaniel, is: What is one supposed to DO in "heaven" for all eternity, contemplate one's navel? There is certainly nothing there that interests me. No sports cars to drive, no audio equipment to play with, no cameras to take pictures with, no computers, probably no music, no art, none of the great cuisines of the world to enjoy, no beer, no whisky, no rum, no gin and vermouth and no love! What an incredible bore! Do you think maybe that the concept of heaven might have been devised at a time when the average human's life consisted of nothing but horrible drudgery from morning 'till night day after day, their entires lives? And that the promise of heaven was simply a respite from this life of misery? Well, brothers, this life is not drudgery and misery any more. People have interests and hobbies outside of grubbing in the dirt to eak out a subsistence living these days, and frankly, this life has become a lot more interesting and a lot more fun than the next life is advertised to be by the Christers.

The only answer to this question one is likely to get from these religious fanatics (make no mistake, MacDaniel *IS* a fanatic) is: "Oh, when your soul ascends to heaven, you won't be interested in the things that interested you on earth any more." So, I'm supposed to live my life bowing and scraping before some God who has all of the self discipline and morality of your average 10-year old boy, just so I can live throughout all eternity as SOMEBODY ELSE other than myself? Oh yeah, I want that! This is a dog that won't hunt!

Couldn't be that love, drugs, pride and money are more INTERESTING than God could it?
