The attached zip file had a file something.txt%20%20%20....pif.

Kaspersky.com's online scan said it was the Sober.K virus

Maaxx Blah blah blah. Perhaps you wrote this about a month ago: "I come from an alternate reality where Earth is ruled by a Macintocracy and Mac users govern with an iron limp...

If you get new enough virus def's your virus progie should catch it too.

I also get a few other stories attached to similar filez.

The first one came from a chello.nl IP. I don't think many emails from the FBI come from chello.nl.

Also, mine said that the "ix.netcom.com" virus service had checked the file.

Netcom was bought by ICG which sold it to Mindspring which merged with Earthlink. My ISP-by-merger is Earthlink.net. Having my email scanned for virii by a non-existent ISP seems almost as unlikely as receiving an FBI email from an ISP in the Nederlands.

By the way, there is an old hippie, Travvus T. Hipp, who gives "All the News You Didn't Know You Need to Know" in the morning on radio stations KPIG.COM (Pay Real Audio, unfortunately) near Sta. Cruz, California and KVMR.ORG (streaming MP3) in Nevada City, California. Anyway, the email from the FBI and the FBI's warnings about it were on his news cast this morning.
