linux newbie: random thoughts 6676replied to tim who was placed near jesus by some noise: Thanks. I know i would enjoy a fast connection. cable or dsl Really haven't the need for it though. Opps, forgot to stop by local confuser shop to get the broadband iso download i want:) snips a lot linux newbie: random thoughts 6677 On Tuesday 06 December 2005 05:41, Tim stood up and spoke the following words to the mbuttes incomp.os.linux.advocacy...: I just mentioned it because I seem to recall that... I forget but paid about 15.$ us +ship for suse 10.0 dvd. Not at all to argue the price, but it is more than just the media. Is some support to suse? Or is it just overhead added in? Does not seem a bad profit for a "free content" dvd mill. Was just wondering about the dvd-cd mail order sites and their.....contribution...... format? Ok format that:) Smiling here as i just skimmed the fsf and gnu site. Interesting. going back to read it all. Well the basics this weekend anyway. Might give it a try as time slips on by, but i do expect to command line through it at least once sometime. Thanks i will. I did for a skim. Need to go back with proper read time. lots o info. Thanks for the link. At present i have plenty of extra horsepower to rely on software drivers. While i may play with the driver issue, i intend to purchase a modem of some make that would be natively accepted in most any GNU-linux. Should i find one and it satisfies, then 2 usr modems will be target practice:) Need to look further on the vague wide issue of security for the popular soft-win and hard modems also. All of you out there, even the noise; Have a great day! smiles -)
