Just as an additional datapoint. You are no doubt aware that Prez Bush called the Space Shuttle this morning. No problem viewing Live Nasa TV on my one Linux machine (the uncoiling of the microphone -- which for some reason was the size of a largish blue paperback in addition to the audio pickup -- must have been slightly embarrbutting as the President decided to say "hello" at just that moment, or maybe they were just nervous; I would be, certainly).
The Kayak, running Win98, took one look at Yahoo!'s offering (apparently Yahoo and NASA have an understanding for Windows media, as do Akamai and NASA for Realvideo), and then just sort of sat there; I couldn't even close the viewing window, though shutting the machine down wasn't a problem.
I'll have to try again later tonight (NasaTV is always on, but usually it's not that interesting unless one wants to watch people shuffling about and a little picture of the Space Shuttle orbiting Earth) and see if I have better luck. There's also the possibility I need to download Media Player 10. I hope I have space now. :-)
Windows. When it absolutely, positively, has to work ... strangely.
