Your followup was unnecessary. Of course newer is not necessarily better. I know what you meant. What I didn't understand is why you would suddenly embrace hardware upgrades a day after criticizing Windows Vista requirements. I'm thinking something big happened this past weekend.

I'm serious. Why else would you all of a sudden bust out with the praise for "hardware upgrades are a good thing" and "my perception of Windows is skewed" and "I have issues with Linux on occasion"?

Was there some sort of Windows-only diagnostic tool that pulled you from a tight spot? Some closed-source data recovery program that recovered data for a client and helped your reputation? Maybe even got you a date with a little hottie who likes nerds?

You had to have some reason for the 180* turnaround.

On Tue, 02 Aug 2005 03:58:35 -0400, DFS No, my criticizing Vista requirements was because it would require major upgrades to existing systems running Windows, probably resulting in many persons scrapping perfectly good systems...

And we'll sure take your word for that.

I'm glad you said "feel to be" because empirically your claims don't hold a thimble of water.

Linux is kind of fun. It's very different from Windows, especially in the decoupling of the kernel from the GUI from the apps. It's also often frustrating and unreliable.

Windows costs me money and makes me money. (though technically it's my skill at building end-user database apps that makes me money - and which could be translated to various OSS platforms and technologies). But the client companies run Windows.

Cool, even though some 99.9% of software-related revenue and profit is due to closed source.

I don't have a P133 system.

And I'll consider your non-answer as an admission you used to, as that
