Awesome Windows systems like SiSoft Sandra and System Mechanic contain pooloads of tools and features not available on Knoppix (or anywhere in the OSS world as far as I know).

I booted Knoppix quite a while back, fool, like v3.2. It's not the "prettiest" or the tightest menu arrangement, but it has tons of software on it. It did a good job recognizing my hardware, mounting all my NTFS volumes, etc.

It's over in the corner. I booted it up for the first time in 2 years the other day, to see how it ran. To my surprise, it loaded Office 97 faster than 2ghz current systems load OpenOffice.
