Apparently the Fedora... I've never understood the attraction of dual boot systems. I've never understood the attraction of important information existing in only one place. We live in a world with multigigabyte drives selling for $40, and people would still rather risk their existing working system by installing a new OS to a currently booting drive rather than swap in a clean drive to start with. Yet I hear about such things, quite often. Advice offered, because I feel like running off at the keyboard. Just use two (or more) machines and a KVM switch, network'em together, allow the linux machine to provide a samba share for your active data, and a seperate hard drive internally for an rsync backup destination. Burn dvds of the data every once in a while and put the disks in a media rated, fire proof safe, then give the finger to the possibility of data loss. extra-re: in response to chrisv As to responding to trolls, the newsgroups this is posted to are mostly all-troll all-the-time networks. *.advocacy? alt.os.* ??. Posted to comp.lang.c++; yeah, I'd be offended, but in an advocacy or alt. group, seems like a typical fuel saturated, ultra-sweet tasty treat, ready for a bit of flame and troll baiting.
