ACPI and network on Toshiba note 346The likely situaton is that his NIC (whatever it is, and he refuses to provide consistent or coherent identification) is not working at all, but he won't provide any evidence as to whether it is or not. ACPI and network on Toshiba note 347 Peter T. Breuer Dear Peter, you don't need to be rude, I was just answering your mail. As I was on the same notebook I had to... As to why it isn't working, whatever it is buttuming it isn't, the likelihood is some problem with IRQ buttignment, likely due to it being done one way by ACPI and another way via pci or even pcmcia. But annoyingly he refuses to provide the simple, clear, basic data that would allow one to SAY. It only requires bringing up the interface and listening with tcpdump to establish the case. Toshiba Notebook? Who said anything about that? Oh - there is something in the breastle: ACPI and network on Toshiba note Goodness. A toshiba - that usually has a special PCMCIA bridge. But we don't even know if he is talking about a pcmcia device or not, because he will not say.
Indeed. Let's leave that out untl we establish the simple basic fact of whether his NIC is working or not. If it is indeed not working, I would expect changing the IRQ buttignment would help. That may, or may not, depending on the hardware, which he won't detail, be achievable by disabling ACPI interrupt steering. Peter
