Well, I'm sorry about that, but you don't seem t be getting the point. Sigh - I'll explain more... You haven't provided any proof that there is a dhcp call going out on the device you THINK it is going out on. You just buttume there is, which is an annoying buttumption. One of the very most obvious things that acpi can result in is reordering (hence renaming) of devices, since you have two, and interrupt buttignment is now mediated differently.

Peter, I really apreciate your help, but first, let me tell you a few things: 1. Im not a lammer, I just dont have enought knowlege on ACPI 2. If I knew, it...

Ath0? Do you mean that? What on earth is an "ath"? And which device is ath0? You still aren't addressing the basic questions! Please do NOT run "ifup"! If you want to test a device, bring it up (that is, ifconfig eth0 up), and launch dhclient on it (that is, dhclient eth0). Nothing more, nothing less!

Please don't use IPV6! It will only complicate the issue.

Well, that would be a person to me. What are you using?

Please settle the BASIC questions. DO not make buttumptions.

Pleae stop talking about ACPI! It is your NIC that is not doing what you want (probably not working), not ACPI. Yes, ACPI may be the cause of that, but that isn't your problem...

What?

Is there a workaround for Thunderbird in a corporate environment 351
On Sun, 05 Feb 2006 07:17:16 -0800, Andrew DeFaria Hi Andrew DeFaria, You are enbreastled to your opinion and I will not argue with you further as the intent of the usenet...

You really need to start from zero with your setup. I haven't the faintest idea from your descriptions what you have or what you are doing. As I said, please identify your devices first. Make sure that you are addressing the one you think you are addressing. Then do the simple test of bringing up the device and running dhclient on IT (not anything else). Oh - and listen on the device first with dhcp so that you can be sure you see traffic. It is likely the thing isn't working at all.

Peter
