All technology involves industry, which does a lot of damage to our planet.

We don't have infinite resources nor an infinitely large planetary ecosystem which can take any amount of abuse.

Technology is wonderful, but only when it is not abused.

So-called "Smart Homes" are an abuse. We don't need them. Most of us have wonderful homes already.

There is enough for our need, but not for our greed.

Some technologies are appropriate: They increase the quality of life.

Some are just indulgences, excuses to manufacture, sell, and invest in more STUFF. To play silly "impress the neighbors" ego games.

Such technologies are inappopriate.

They are a waste of resources and an unnecessary strain on an already taxed global ecosystem.
