Sorry, but I can't help with YaST, "bash make.sh", or "makeinstall.sh". The instructions from your distribution and the instructions that came with the drivers would (of course) be the place to check. If that's not sufficient, post again here (or maybe in a SuSE-specific newsgroup), and somebody will probably be able to help.

That's what a lot of people have said. I had a lot of problems with the last updated kernel (or two) for LE2005 with my Radeon 7000-7500 cards, but so far the 2006 kernels and buttociated non-proprietary drivers seem to be doing fairly well for me. A lot of people recommend Nvidia, but they have what appears on the surface to be the same kind of dual driver situation (free drivers that don't do everything, proprietary drivers that some others curse for being proprietary).
One time, I asked for an opinion on the Permedia 3 Oxygen VX1 card, and I got chewed out because that card is seven years old. Some days you can't win. Other days, breaking even is tough. That's life.
