Any newbie Linux forums 4042Floyd L. Davidson Any newbie Linux forums 4043 You have indeed, and I have no argument with your perspective on it. ... Peter may have stated his thoughts briefly enough this time that it can be taken... Of course. I've said exactly that in this thread and live it in my life. There of course ARE people who are hopelessly inept at everything, but intelligence is a broad, broad field with many possibilities: music, art, communication, engineering and more. Engineers sometimes think that if you can't think logically you aren't "smart", but that's blindness on their part. Any newbie Linux forums 4044 Of course I am - one colleague of mine told me about the cabbie whose cab... No. Well, maybe :-) But the basic premise is correct: some people just are not going to be able to do the things you find easy. Good thing for that, or I couldn't earn a living. No doubt carpenters and auto mechanics are equally grateful for my ineptness in those areas. My neighbor dissolved into fits of laughter when I told him I paid $17.00 to have a tail light replaced. Funny, yes, but I couldn't figure out how to remove the stuff *around* the light to get at it to change it. He later showed me how easy it would have been, but I am just not "mechanically inclined" - I couldn't see it.
Agreed :-) I hate the term "guru". There are damn few real gurus and most of the folks who think they are, aren't. I am mildly insulted when someone applies that label to me - it doesn't even begin to fit. 100% on the same page. -- Tony Lawrence
