The syntax is probably incorrect. "man smbmount" says the credentials file has 2 lines, "username = USERNAME" and "pbuttword = MYPbuttWORD". This is Samba 3.0.22 , a fairly recent version. Domain is specified with the workgroup= parameter. You'd do something like this:

-BORG-SHARE mnt-borg smbfs credentials=-path-to-file,workgroup= DOMAIN,uid=1000,gid=1000 0 0

...note that there's another option you have to feed to smbmount if you maybe. It's not in the man page. cifs, smbfs's successor, has that enabled by default. cifs is (IIRC) intended to be very backwards-combatible with smbfs, as mount.cifs takes so many of the same options. HTH,
