Everything in any discussion group has an element of personal interpretation. Best OS for recording 631 On Thu, 16 Mar 2006 21:16:37 +0100, Philipp Wachtel Exactly, and that is all I am trying to say. look, Audacity is a very nice application, even under... It appears you are a Linux user. So explain to me how Linux sould be better for doing audio recording than say Windows or OSX and Cubase? Money? Cost? Maybe, but what about the time required to get Linux to work? What about all the extra crap involved in attempting to make VST plugins work? What about a guarentee that said plugins will work? What about technical support for said plugins? What do you think say Steinberg will say when I call them and inform them that my VST plugin that I just paid 499.99 for has horrid latency under Linux using wine? Do you think they will support me? Come on already. This Linux babble as far as recording digital audio is a farce. The tools are just not there and the ones that profess to be professional are not complete, unstable and just not used anywhere outside of the Linux community except as maybe an experiment. In fact Linux as a whole is an experiment, and one that depending upon your outlook, has failed miserably.
How to use cd with special chars in a network directory name Sorry if this is a dumb question--I'm a bit of a Linux newbie.) I need to access some files on a Novell server from a (debian) Linux machine... -- Dennis Karlsson Collector of vintage sprockets and ball bearings.
