Can I buy a linux account 855the following words to the mbuttes incomp.os.linux.misc...: The way I see it, you have three options...: (1) You install GNU-Linux on your own machine, alongside of whatever other operating system you have - I presume Windows? - and have your computer dual-boot, i.e. you get a boot menu from which you choose which operating system you wish to bootstrap. (2) You install Cygwin on top of Windows. It's kind of a GNU-Linux emulator that normally comes with abashcommandline interpreter and on which you can even runX11,and thus GUI applications.
