Changing MAC & hostidAN O'Nymous 'strace' will show you what's being called. Pausing the program and feeding it altered data will require a debugger of some sort (which will also be able to track the various library calls), but is much more complex than just watching the calls with strace. Problem about man k 1148 Thank you. I have installed anacron and runetc-cron.daily-man-db manually. When I call 'man -k read ', there is more lines displayed. After that, I... If you're not already familiar with strace and one or more good debuggers...well, then their output may well be over your head. It's one of those sorts of things where if you have to ask, it's not for you, IMHO. (That is not meant to be disparaging nor discouraging. It's meant to make you take a reality check and realize that this isn't going to be a quick and easy thing to do...especially if you're not already a programmer. Understand that it could be a long road ahead of you.) Introductory "hacking" (actually cracking) guides. Seriously, what you're attempting to do (alter the response of a library call) falls into that category, regardless of what your intentions are. Note that most such documents buttume you're already a competent programmer (usually in C). If you're a "raw" beginner, you've got a long way to go before you can even understand such documents. As to finding them...well, they're all over the Internet.
