Changing queue length for mptscsih driverOn some of our hosts attached to an Xserve RAID box, we're seeing messages like this: Feb 18 04:23:13 db1 kernel: mptscsih: ioc0: WARNING - Device (0:1:3) reported QUEUEFULL! A little research suggests that this happens when multiple hosts are connected to the same storage unit; they each buttume they have exclusive access to the queue, which is of course not true. The research has also suggested that it would be possible to change the queue length per host, but not how you might do this. Does anyone know if this is actually possible, and if so how it can be done? A quick perusal of mptscsih.c does not suggest anything. Here's the host and driver info, if it makes a difference. db1:~$ uname -r ; catetc-redhat-release ; modinfo mptscsih mptbase 2.4.21-20.ELsmp Red Hat Enterprise Linux ES release 3 (Taroon Update 3) filename:lib-modules-2.4.21-20.ELsmp-kernel-drivers-message-fusion-mptscsih.o description: "Fusion MPT SCSI Host driver" author: "LSI Logic Corporation" license: "GPL" parm: mptscsih string filename:lib-modules-2.4.21-20.ELsmp-kernel-drivers-message-fusion-mptbase.o description: "Fusion MPT base driver" author: "LSI Logic Corporation" license: "GPL" parm: PortIo int, description "0=Use mmap, 1=Use port io"
