Big friggin deal! I have a B.S. and M.A. in Mathematics and worked 30 years doing scientific software support and development as a Computer Scientist and Mathematician.

Bluetooth and transfers from your cellphone are needed in law school for what??

Well, if they made it to run explicitly on MS, I'd be pretty damned sure that it wouldn't run on a MAC either. This is needed for law school for what?

My accountant uses QuickBooks - so? I use Gnucash - this has what to do with law school?

You wouldn't care to share your stats on that would you?

I don't. We've been totally Linux in our three node home lan for over a year - with no problems. I've installed Mandrake 10.1 in the local library for public access internet use in January and NO ONE has complained. A recent customer satisfaction survey shows that most of the patrons are not aware they are not running MS. Linux is that good.

Bottom line, if you are afraid to challenge authority, and you're happy with MS, then USE it. I really don't give a rat's butt what you do. Linux is about CHOICE, and without it there would basically be none. If you're really that interested then I would suggest you have a heart to heart chat with the folks who drafted the LAW that says you have to use MS and find out exactly why that is. I imagine they would be pretty hard put to rationally defend their position.
