College and Linux don't mix well : 4377Really? Where do you see Linux mentioned here? Do you realize that unlike you, who is more than likely living at home with mommy, I am paying $15,000+ a year to attend NYU? That is net, after my scholarship but not including room-board etc. Tell me why on earth I would want to put my scholarship on the line for Linux? Why would a gainfully employed person want to put her job on the line for Linux? Think of it this way, a group of people have enough faith in me to give me 10's of thousands of dollars based upon my past educational history and if I can make the grade I leave as a lawyer. So why the hell would I even consider using Linux? I want to abide by the rules, not make any waves and take every cent they throw my way. What does using Linux buy me? Based upon your response you are obviously a child who has not had the opportunity to find out how hard it is to make it in the real world and I'll give you some free advice, Linux is nowhere to be found except when talking to programmers in India, Bangalore or China. Wonderful... Want a dead end career? Become a Linux programmer, or a Windows programmer for that matter. Hope you like sand, camels, snakes and turbans. Sorry, but Linux fails the college test and you don't have to take my word for it, go and call a couple of top schools and mention Linux and see what happens. You'll never do that however because you prefer to live in your little fantasy world where everyone uses Linux and Microsoft is the big bad wolf. Good for you. Reality is not like that however.
