Considering Linux You had better Look at WhoWhat Is Supporting it. 4158On Sun, 29 May 2005 12:55:33 -0700, Peter Lee What rubbish. Commercial distros come with a wide range of options for support, depending on what you need or want. If you are buying Linux for busincess use, it will come for business-style support, as professional as any other. What problem? The problem here is your unfounded buttumptions. Considering Linux You had better Look at WhoWhat Is Supporting it. 4160 For the record, InfoWorld gave the Linux community an award for "Best Support in the industry... In most newsgroup you are likely to be 'harbutted' for top-posting, since it goes against newsgroup ettiquette, and is annoying and stupid. If you stop using OE to read newsgroups the begin bug will never trouble you again - there are far better programs for reading and posting news. And if you behave idiotically, you are likely to be called an idiot. Nonsense. Genuine requests for help in a help group are treated properly - but those who simply want to troll will soon find themselves outed. What makes you the person who decides? There are such things as kill-files, you know. Huh? It's an advocacy group. Anyone can come in - unfortunately that means a lot of trolls think it's their God-given right to come into COLA and lie and smear Linux for their own twisted amusement. Considering Linux You had better Look at WhoWhat Is Supporting it. 4159 Peter, You did indeed crosspost to: comp.os.linux.advocacy alt.os.linu comp.os.linux.mis rec.audio.pro This means that you are not really looking for genuine... You really have to be joking. Try alt.os.windows-xp. That a cesspit. COLA just gets a lot of unimaginative trolls. Wrong. It merely shows up a bug in OE - it does no actual harm, beyond preventing display of the message. Can you prove that statement? You can't simply come out with crap like that and expect to be taken seriously. You made a business decision about what server OS to use based on what you saw in *newsgroups*? Thank God I am not a customer of yours, you are too stupid to be allowed out in the street. Cobblers. RedHat and SUSE do not charge extortion rates, and their support is just as good or better than anything you'll get from MS. The newsgroups are a mere fraction of what consitutes the Linux community. Anyone who buttumes all of the Linux community is homogenous, and that newsgroups are in any way typical of it deserves to be called an idiot. Oh and by the way, why are you cross-posting to rec.audio.pro (now removed)? -- Kier
