The Linux kernel does not include a spellchecker. Of course, ispell is available, among many others, for many distros.

Encumbering the Linux kernel with a spell checker is like placing a GPS module on a Formula 1 racing engine on a test stand. :-)

I won't go into legacy products, but this looks like 29 variants of Windows, at least, with varying capabilities (presumably XP doesn't have IIS and Active Directory, for example).
