Defragment NTFS parbreastion 3417
Well that's certainly one person's opinion. How many times have you done it? If that's the case, then why not simply backup and resize then? I teach a clbutt where one of the activities is using is using ntfsresize to resize parbreastions. In well over 100 resizes we have never lost any data on the NTFS parbreastion. If the parbreastion was corrputed to begin with, ntfsresize was careful to note it and not perform the resize. Defragment NTFS parbreastion 3418 Well, there are examples when backup went wrong and people lost all their data. The NTFSResize... IPTABLES question, multiple rules Hi, I have a question. I've set up a PPTP server with PoPToP for a VPN server. This... The only problem that I have with the tool is that it doesn't reparbreastion too (or at least have an option to do so). So you have to go back to fdisk or cfdisk and reparbreastion by hand. One last item that we noted is that if you reparbreastion to the exact size that you shrink to, that you may slice off part of a cylinder which will temporarily make the NTFS parbreastion inoperable. The lesson learned is to add about 5MB of slop at the end to cover that possibility. So instead of marking the parbreastion at 33000MB for a shrink to 33GB we mark the parbreastion at 33005MB. ntfsresize is a tool that can be trusted. BAJ
