Do we need wine 56
snipped repository definitions Do we need wine 57 I agree with you about the deficiencies in yumex, however it is a big advance over up2date which was practically useless. I don't understand why... I was not aware of yumex, I always used yum. Now I just installed it and used it to do an update. ("yum update" dowloads and installs all available updates to installed packages.) Yum has always been slow. However, with yumex, much of the output is hidden, and then there is little to tell you that you are waiting for something good. It looks mostly as if you are waiting for Godot. When the update finally finished, it automatically resynchronized to the repositores, **again**!! I had to wait another while before trying anything. I am not sure this is a very good idea. That is, I think it is a very good idea to make a graphical front end to yum. But given the fact that yum is such slow snail, so crudely implemented, the user needs an intelligent message, e.g., is something wrong in it 58 Hello Rita, You need to learn how to change the PATH variable. Every program, when it is running, has somethig we call the "environment". Strange... "Go make yourself a cup of coffe. Already back? Do you want to play a chess match against Anatoly Karpov while we wait? I can send him a mail and ask... Or would you like a film? Tip: 'A Clockwork Orange' has a nice retro sensation nowadays. Sure we can find a bittorrent..." -Enrique
