Download photos automatically 1910well on the camera there are two modes: 1. Mbutt storage 2. PTP Download photos automatically 1911 Michael Heiming Thanks for the reply. I dont have that in myetc-udev. All I have is this... I don't use the mbutt storage becauseI wanted to use gphoto2 with the option to download all photos. Now 'gphoto2 -P' works a treat but what I want to do is launch this command when the camera is connected. Now the output of dmesg is this: Can Anybody help me help me out I think you are refering to some sites or downloaded media that does not play. What is the extension... usb 4-4: USB disconnect, address 7 usb 4-4: new high speed USB device using ehcihcd and address 8 usb 4-4: configuration #1 chosen from 1 choice And here is the section from the messages log: Jul 22 22:54:12 blue kernel: usb 4-4: new high speed USB device using ehcihcd and address 4 Jul 22 22:54:12 blue kernel: usb 4-4: configuration #1 chosen from 1 choice Jul 22 23:11:10 blue kernel: usb 4-4: USB disconnect, address 4 Its not just a case of mounting it as I don't need to mount it to be able to get at the files, gphoto2 takes care of this for me. What I want to do it have a script that is launched when the device is plugged in. but this isnt used in FC5 anymore. Instead they use UDEV but i don't seem to be able to find out how to do it.... :-S Cheers, Mike
