Need help with cleaning up a working GNU Autotools setup
First of all, this is a crosspost, but since I get no feedback from the other group I'm hoping...

Hi Saul, I sent a reply to youre email to me. Here is my fstab ...

# This file is edited by fstab-sync - see 'man fstab-sync' for details # Modified by Dave Mann - last changed 08-06-05 # # This mounts the root drive and vol manager and so forth #dev-VolGroup00-LogVol00 auto defaults 1 1 LABEL=-boot boot auto defaults 1 2 none dev-pts devpts gid=5,mode=620 0 0 none dev-shm tmpfs defaults 0 0 none proc proc defaults 0 0 none sys sysfs defaults 0 0 # # This mount the swap parbreastion and can be changed to make atmp RAM drive swap if you have enuff RAM #dev-VolGroup00-LogVol01 swap swap defaults 0 0 # # This mounts the digital camera when it is plugged indev-sdb1 mnt-camera vfat rw,defaults, 0 0 # This mounts the big storage drive of 200 GBdev-hdb1 mnt-storage ext2 rw,exec, defaults, auto 0 0 # This mounts the Maxtor 200 GB Firewire backup drivedev-sda1 mnt-firewire ext2 rw,exec, defaults, auto 0 0 # This mounts the Iomega ZIP Drivedev-hdd4 media-zip auto pamconsole, exec, noauto, fscontext=systemu:objectr:removablet, managed 0 0 # This mounts the CDROM and DVD Devicedev-hdc media-cdrecorder auto pamconsole, exec, noauto, fscontext=systemu:objectr:removablet, managed 0 0 # #

For an MP3 device, the setting may well be the same as mine for the digital camera. Try making a foldermedia-mp3 or a foldermnt-mp3, then modify your fstab to read something like:

dev-sdb1 mnt-mp3 vfat rw,defaults, 0 0

and see what happens. I tinkered around with using auto instead of vfat but my os was happy with vfat since the camera is a vfat device, evidently.

Please QUOTE. I can't recall what you are talking about. What did I suggest? Surely only use...
