R. P. snip This seems so unnecessary to me too... snip I'll try and help you do it...

Clue 2: Your Windows Software gives you an error to do with booting Windows

Clue 3: According to your Windows Software, you do not get as far as loading Linux

Does anything in those clues suggest to you that this is a Linux problem, if so, please post the *precise* error message that indicates that.

So far, you have shown us Windows software doing what Windows software does best - failing to interact with anything else.

Only the author of your Windows software can tell you why it is trying to use a corrupt file to boot Windows when you actually wanted it to boot Linux.

That page gives perfectly adequate instructions how to use Grub, but also tells people how to use the Mircosoft imitation boot loader if they want to. It still avoids the question of *why* anyone would actually want to boot Windows in order to boot Linux. -- Robert HULL
