Dual boot problem 30

mayayana's comment makes me think of this statement: "There are 2 kinds of people in this world--those who try to divide the world into 2 groups, and those who realize it's more subtle and complex than that." Where would I fit in mayayana's scheme?

:) I didn't mean to put everyone into one camp or the other. I was just noting that those seem to be two notable groups among Linux users. Actually, I'd be curious to know better what percentage of the whole those two groups do represent.

I guess that's a good point that I hadn't really thought about: I shouldn't approach Linux the same way I approach Windows. In Linux there seems to be an extensive system of well documented command line operations, while in Windows there's not much useful that can be done at the command line without a lot of trouble. At the same time it's very quick and easy to put together a simple GUI program in Windows. (I wrote a VB utility last week for changing the GUI colors of programs running under Wine. It probably took an hour to write it. Such a small effort pays for itself quickly.)
