Internet Access problems in Fedora Core 4 1136 Snooz; Thanks a lot for such a detailed and informative response. Much appriciated mate. Ok, Firstly as per your advise i tried to access google through the raw ipaddress. Actually it... Because by the time I'd posted that I couldn't think straight. What I've tried is this: 1) made sure the 2nd card worked in the first place, by hoping debconf would help me set up 2 monitors, and it configured the other card instead. But it worked. 2) restored my original xconf.org, and copy pasted the relevant lines from the one running debconf had created. Added the stuff for the monitor and display settings of the monitor for the 2nd card. -- Crashed system by trying to load X again. 3) experimented with various things I could find on Google about this. Namely misc permutations of this: found was only needed in the case of a dual output card.. I don't have one so I quit playing with that one. - Arrangement in the serverlayout area. Tried Screen "GC1" followed by 2, tried Screen 0 "GC1" followed by Screen 1 "GC2", uh..leaving the number off the 2nd screen entry. tried Screen 0 "GC1" 0 0 (though I NEVER found out what the last 2 0s were supposed to be doing exactly). Also using LeftOf "GC1" on the 2nd screen entry. And MOST variations actually just caused it to work off of the 1st card and monitor, completely ignoring the 2nd. At first anyway, then most of the same configs DO cause the 2nd card to init, I see the card's BIOS info, then it goes into the right res mode, and then my first card goes from the TTY screen and res to the X screen and res and then all DIES. --
