I don't know that this example is that good. The Tk::ExecuteCommand module had no ebuild, so I had to manually install it. I'm comfortable with that, but Anton might not be. Also, the Tk widgets are ugly and they don't look like GTK+ or Qt widgets. The only way I'd use Tk widgets for a GUI app is if the only other choices were Athena and Motif.

I recently learned how to use the Gtk2::Perl module, which does lots of GUI stuff fairly easily and looks better than Tk. The main problems that Anton might have with Gtk2::Perl are that A) it's not Python B) the English tutorial for it is missing a bunch of stuff. The French tutorial is more complete--quelle surprise.
