Expectlike program under Xfont rendering priority and fontconfig font override hi everyone I was always confused by the order that X(Freetype? Xft?) renders a given symbol... Are there anything like 'excpect' that can be run under X ? Either something that actually moves the pointer around and sends clicks (i.e. emulates the mouse), or some more direct (e.g. sends events directly to the client)... both being controlled by a script, and preferbly with the ability to "read" the client (e.g. read text in the client window). I guess DCOP (or whatever that inter-client communication thingy under KDE is called) could do it, but I thought about something laying closer to X itself. +++ What I would like to do in *this* case, is download somethings from web-sites that unfortunately seems immune (uses log-in, javascript and all sort of other things) to 'wget', 'curl' and text-based browsers (like 'links'). It would be mostly going down a list of links and download what they point on, or saving an image, click "next" and then save another image. Very easy point-click-move-click-action in other words. A browser able to do this -- or some sort of browser- extension -- would certainly help (and I'm greatful for suggestions on that), but I would like something more general that could be used for other tasks too. -Koppe
