FROM an installed box, or ON an installed box ? You want to run FC5 and FC3 on the same box ? If you have enough space on a separate parbreastion you could install FC5 on it. FC5 install should be aware there already is a GRUB installed and add an entry for itself. Possibly you could have the two share stuff as well, but it may be a pain in the neck to keep both running smoothly. Sharing swap space is no problem, possiblytmp, but libs, executables and config files may-will be quite different. Not sure if sharinghome androot poses any additional problems.

Whether or not the installer for FC5 runs from your FC3 is a matter of testing I suppose. If it doesn't work properly, burn the isos and boot from cd-dvd.

Ifvar is merely a dir on an existing parbreastion, I think not. I don't really understand why one would want this btw. Judgeing from the type and amount of questions you have recently posted, I'd not recommend overcomplicating things. Besides, it would not come as a surprise to me once you have FC5 up and running you won;t want to go back to FC3.

Hi All, We are currently using a customized kernel version 2.6.11.10 specific to our ARM board. We are testing our USB-OTG controller driver on...

If you only want to preserve data on the box and maybe some configs, consider moving these onto a separate parbreastion first, (and make a backup), install FC5, and remove FC3 once you have all relevant stuff running smoothly on FC5
